Transport Services Gwasanaethau Cludiant

The core activity of Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT from the beginning has been to help cancer sufferers who find it difficult to reach their treatments and therapies by providing suitable and sympathetic transport.

Mae gweithred craidd Cymorth Cancr (Cwm Cynon) RhCT ers y dechrau wedi bod i ddarparu cludiant addas a chydymdeimladol i ddioddefwyr cancr sydd yn ei ffeindio'n annodd cyrraedd triniaethau a therapiau.

A lot of people in the Cynon Valley and Taf Ely do not have cars. Even when they do, the effects of cancer can make driving difficult or impossible. Buses are rarely a practical alternative. An ambulance is not always allowed, and even when it is often results in a long and uncomfortable journey - a crucial factor to a cancer patient especially when returning from exhausting treatment.

Driver and Client 2 / Gyrrwr a chlient 2

Nid oes ceir gan lawer o bobl Cwm Cynon a Thaf Elâi. Hyd yn oed pan mae car ar gael, gall effeithiau cancr wneud gyrru'n anodd neu yn amhosibl. Prin mae bysiau yn ddewis ymarferol. Ni chaniateir ambiwlans bob tro, a hyd yn oed pan fo'r canlyniad yn aml iawn byddai taith hir ac angyfforddus - rhywbeth hanfodol i glaf cancr yn arbennig wrth ddychwelyd o driniaeth luddedus.

The Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT transport service was started largely by people who themselves had experienced these problems, or had seen their loved ones do so. They were determined that their community deserved something better. From small beginnings the service, which is completely provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars, has become an integral part of Cynon Valley life. Last year 2,484 trips were run, taking patients to treatments and therapies. The distance covered was an enormous 102,000 miles.

This year, the transport service has been extended to help cancer sufferers in the Taf Ely area.

If you or a member of your family lives in the Cynon Valley or Taf Ely and has cancer, and transport is a problem in reaching treatments or therapies, perhaps we can help. Contact us.

Also, if you would like to be a volunteer driver for us - even if for only one or two journeys a week - please get in touch. We pay the costs of running your vehicle, and you will be joining a great team.

Cychwynnwyd gwasanaeth cludiant Cymorth Cancr (Cwm Cynon) RhCT yn bennaf gan bobl a oedd wedi dioddef y problemau hyn eu hunain, neu a oedd wedi gweld eu hanwyliaid yn eu dioddef. Roeddent yn benderfynnol bod eu cymuned yn haeddu rhywbeth gwell. O'r dechreuad bach mae'r gwasanaeth, a ddarparir yn llwyr gan wirfoddolwyr sy'n gyrru eu ceir eu hunain, wedi dod yn rhan annatod o fywyd Cwm Cynon. Y llynedd gwnaethpwyd dros 2,484 o deithiau, gan fynd â chleifion i driniaethau a therapïau. Gyrrwyd y pellter enfawr o 102,000 o filltiroedd.

Eleni, mae'r gwasanaeth cludiant wedi'i ehangu i helpu dioddefwyr cancr yn ardal Taf Elâi.

Os oes cancr arnoch neu ar aelod eich teulu; rydych yn byw yng Nghwm Cynon neu Taf Elâi; ac mae cyrraedd triniaeth neu therapiau yn broblem oherwydd diffyg cludiant - efallai y cawn helpu. Cysyllter â ni.

Hefyd, os hoffech fod yn yrrwr gwirfoddol i ni - hyd yn oed am ddim ond un neu ddwy daith yr wythnos - rhowch wybod i ni. Rydym yn talu costau rhedeg eich cerbyd, a byddwch yn ymuno â thîm gwych.

They are given to increase feelings of mental and physical wellbeing. Cooky's Cabin Caban Cooky

Paul Cook was a client of Cancer Support (Cynon Valley) RCT who died in the Summer of 2006. Earlier in that year a Trust Fund was set up to finance treatment which - it was hoped - would give Paul relief from his cancer and prolong his life. However this was not to be, and when Paul realised this he said that he wanted the funds collected by the Trust to pay for a caravan. This caravan was to be available to all cancer sufferers and their families from anywhere in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Paul's wish was that the caravan would enable people to have holidays in a beautiful location by the sea, where they could relax and push their illness to the back of their minds.

Roedd Paul Cook yn glient i Gymorth Cancr (Cwm Cynon) RhCT a fu farw yn yr Haf 2006. Yn gynharach yn y flwyddyn honno sefydlwyd Cronfa Ymddiriedolaeth i ariannu triniaeth a fyddai - gobeithio - yn rhoi rhyddhad i Paul o'i gancr ac ymestyn ei fywyd. Sut bynnag nid oedd hyn i fod, ac wrth i Paul sylweddoli hyn dywedodd yr oedd am i'r arian yn y Gronfa dalu am garafán. Yr oedd y garafán hon i fod ar gael i bawb sy'n dioddef o gancr, a'u teuluoedd, o unrhywle yn Rhondda Cynon Taf. Dymuniad Paul oedd i'r garafán rhoi siawns i bobl gymryd gwyliau mewn llecyn hardd ger y môr, lle gallent ymlacio a gwthio eu salwch i gefn ei feddyliau.

Thanks to the generosity of the Trustees of the Paul Cook Fund the wish has become a reality. The caravan - "Cooky's Cabin" - is on a first class site at Fontygary Holiday Park near Rhoose. It is available almost all the year round for a reasonable weekly charge to cancer sufferers and their families from anywhere in the Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf. To find out more, and make a booking, contact the Cancer Centre.

The Official Opening / Yr Agoriad Swyddogol

Diolch i haelioni Ymddiriedolwyr Cronfa Paul Cook mae'r dymuniad wedi dod yn realiti. Mae'r garafán - "Caban Cooky" - ar safle ardderchog ym Marc Gwyliau Ffontygari ger Y Rhws. Mae ar gael bron gydol y flwyddyn am gost wythnosol rhesymol i ddioddefwyr cancr a'u teuluoedd o unrhywle ym Mwrdeistref Rhondda Cynon Taf. I ddarganfod mwy, a threfnu gwyliau, cysylltwch â'r Ganolfan Gancr.
